In August 1982, Decatur Baptist Church was founded by Pastor Michael Burris with his dear wife Jean Burris and their four children. We used a dual wide trailer and remodeled it in those early days. The building has been through many ups and downs including a fire, which caused us to have to remodel the entire building. The Lord has blessed us with several acres of property. We also have a very large tent we use for church functions we do throughout the year. God has greatly blessed Decatur Baptist Church over these 40 years and God still has mighty things He wants to do.
